About 15,000 delivery workers in Moscow have been suspended from their jobs due to violations of work and traffic regulations, according to Deputy Mayor Maxim Liksutov in an interview with Kommersant.

Liksutov explained that various measures are being taken against delivery workers who violate the rules. In some cases, they are sent for retraining on safe traffic regulations, while others are completely barred from continuing their work.

He noted that delivery workers who do not meet the established standards in Moscow are disconnected from city databases. As a result, they can no longer receive orders through delivery services. To date, about 15,000 people have lost their jobs in this way.

Liksutov also emphasized that most residents have smartphones with cameras, so they can photograph the number of a bicycle to help identify violators.

Earlier, it was reported that Rospotrebnadzor (the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) is considering the introduction of mandatory regular medical examinations for delivery workers. This requirement could become part of new measures to tighten control over the delivery sector in the capital.
