### Putin Signs Decree Limiting Cash Ruble Exports to EAEU Countries Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree introducing new restrictions on the export of cash rubles from Russia to countries within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The document was published on the official legal information portal and will come into effect on April 1, 2026. Under the new rules, businesses and individual entrepreneurs will be prohibited from exporting Russian currency in cash to EAEU countries regardless of the amount. The measures aim to strengthen control over cross-border cash flows. However, exceptions are provided. Cash rubles can be exported through designated international airports, with a list to be determined by the government. A mandatory requirement will be the presentation of bank documents confirming the withdrawal of funds and certified by the issuing credit institution. On the same day, the president also approved similar restrictions for individuals: starting in April, citizens will be banned from exporting cash rubles to EAEU countries exceeding the equivalent of $100,000, except in special cases. Currently, there is no direct ban on exporting cash rubles for businesses; companies are only required to declare amounts exceeding the equivalent of $10,000.
