Lada Dominates Russian Market, Avtovaz CEO Departs in Mercedes

Avtovaz CEO Maxim Sokolov prefers imported cars over domestic models, as evidenced by a video segment posted by journalist Alexander Yunashev on his channel on Maxh.

During the interview, Yunashev asked Sokolov if he was concerned that Lada cars might be overtaken by Chinese automakers.

- Today, Lada holds the largest share of the car market, about a quarter. Any other Chinese brand is at least twice as far from this benchmark. It is clearly visible that Lada has a dominant, if not monopolistic, position in our market. The goal of our management is to ensure that Lada maintains this position, Sokolov stated before getting into a German Mercedes and driving away.
