Russian woman dies in Phuket traffic accident

An accident involving a minibus on Phuket Island, Thailand, has claimed the life of a Russian national and left eleven others injured.

According to Russian media outlet Mash, the minibus carrying tourists lost control and crashed into an electricity pole. The vehicle was heading towards the Similan Islands when the incident occurred. The driver reported that a truck with a trailer was driving in front of him and when it braked suddenly, the minibus skidded.

Rescue workers had to cut through the minibus body with hydraulic shears to extract the passengers. The injured have been taken to local hospitals in Phuket (Vachira, Mission, and Talang).
