Crypto Market Cap Halves Since October 2025

From October 2025 to February 2026, the total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies across all exchanges dropped by 47.2%, losing $2.02 trillion, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

As of October 7, the total cryptocurrency market capitalization stood at $4.28 trillion. Bitcoin accounted for 58.18% of the market ($2.49 trillion), Ethereum (Ether) for 13.22% ($565.65 billion), and other stablecoins and cryptocurrencies for 28.6% ($1.24 trillion).

Today, the market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies has fallen to $2.26 trillion. Bitcoin now represents 58.4% ($1.31 trillion), Ethereum 10.2% ($229.95 billion), and other cryptocurrencies 31.4% ($708.64 billion).
