The Russian government has set a quota for the export of scrap metal and black metal outside the Eurasian Economic Union. Starting from January 1, 2026, the quota volume will increase to 2.2 million tons. The quota will be in effect until December 31, 2026.

The duty rate within the quota will be 5%, but no less than 15 euros per ton. For exports exceeding the quota, the duty will be 5%, but no less than 290 euros per ton.

Thanks to this decision, industry participants will be able to sell an additional volume of raw materials on the foreign market that is not in demand domestically.
