In Russia, the simplified procedure for state registration of certain medicines has been extended until January 1, 2036, and for the most in-demand medical devices until December 31, 2028. The relevant government decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The decision is aimed at maintaining stability in the market for medicines and medical devices amid external sanctions.
The simplified procedure involves processing documents in a short time frame to speed up the introduction of products to the market in order to prevent shortages and disruptions in supplies to pharmacies and medical institutions.
The list of drugs and medical devices that are allowed to be registered under the simplified procedure is compiled by a special interdepartmental commission consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Roszdravnadzor, Federal Customs Service, and Federal Antimonopoly Service.
