Putin Discussed AI Development Measures with Security Council for Security and Defense Interests

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council, during which he discussed additional measures for the development of artificial intelligence aimed at strengthening national security and defense.
"We have several issues. The first one is about additional measures for the development of artificial intelligence in the interests of ensuring national security and defense," the head of state emphasized, addressing Andrey Belousov.
Earlier, Putin held a separate meeting on the state armament program, where he considered the impact of the experience of the Special Military Operation on the work of the Russian defense industry. Among the main areas of development, he highlighted the active introduction of artificial intelligence technologies.
The President also called for focusing on reducing production costs and developing testing and testing grounds for weapons. According to him, state support measures have allowed for a rapid strengthening of the material and technical base, which ensured a multiple increase in the production of the most demanded weapons since 2022.
