Authorities promise to restart all idling car factories by summer

All car factories that have been idle after the departure of foreign owners will be launched in the first half of 2026. This was announced by the First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov in an interview with Rossiya-24 TV channel. According to him, 80% of the sites have already launched their production lines after a change of ownership. "By next summer, all sites will be fully launched. That is, everyone has their own beneficiaries, Russian ones, with foreign friendly partners from Southeast Asia," Manturov clarified. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the partners involved will implement Russian policy regarding the use of products from Russian automotive component manufacturers. "If there are no certain competencies, then we are, of course, more than happy to accept our friendly partners with their developments and technologies in the field of automotive components," he emphasized.
