Car Technical Inspection Cost to Increase by 9.7% on Average from the New Year

Starting from January 2026, the cost of technical inspection for passenger cars will change. On average across the country, the price will increase by 9.7%, according to Kommersant.

According to the FAS methodology for calculating the fee for technical inspection, all regions must approve tariffs for technical inspection by January 1, 2026.

The tariff will increase the most in Chukotka (5,400 rubles per car), St. Petersburg (2,000 rubles), Amur Region (1,850 rubles), and Nenets Autonomous Okrug (1,750 rubles). The lowest tariffs will be set in Volgograd and Novgorod regions (1,070 rubles).

In most regions, including Moscow and the Moscow region, the cost of technical inspection will increase to 1,200 rubles per car.

The previous year, the indexation was 7.4-7.5%.
