State Duma Approves Annual Self-Exclusion from Gambling, Betting, and Bookmakers on Gosuslugi Portal

The State Duma has finally adopted a law that will allow citizens to impose an official ban on themselves from participating in gambling activities. This includes betting in bookmaker offices, totalizators, and casino gambling. To do this, a non-revocable application must be submitted through the "Gosuslugi" portal, specifying a period of no less than 12 months. Once included in a special register, the individual will not be able to place bets, receive winnings, or advertisements from gambling establishments. The process will be monitored by the Unified Gambling Regulator. The law aims to protect citizens from the negative consequences of gambling addiction. The new rules may come into effect on September 1, 2026.
