During a recent meeting at the Kremlin between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the special envoy of the U.S. President, Stephen Witkoff, all misunderstandings between Moscow and Washington that arose due to the pause after the Russia-U.S. summit in Alaska were resolved. This was reported by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during his speech at the embassy roundtable on the topic of resolving the Ukraine conflict. - Both sides, the Russian and the American, confirmed the mutual understandings reached in Alaska. This is a very important result because there was a pause after Anchorage. Now, in our negotiations with the Americans on the Ukrainian issue, I personally believe that misunderstandings and miscommunication have been resolved, Lavrov noted. According to Lavrov, representatives of the U.S. administration are interested in "understanding the essence of the Ukrainian crisis," which was reflected in the meeting between Presidents Putin and Trump in Anchorage in August. - There were mutual understandings reached in Anchorage that remain relevant for us and can serve as a starting point. The understandings reached in Anchorage are based on the proposals that President Putin has already summarized once again in June 2024 regarding the principles for resolving the Ukrainian conflict, Lavrov explained.
