In a press briefing, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russian armed forces have full control over Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region. He said that this status has been maintained in the city for nearly a week. Putin provided details on the operational situation, noting that Kupiansk is divided by a river into two parts. "Russian troops control both the right-bank, main, part entirely, as well as the left-bank part entirely," Putin clarified. Separately, Putin mentioned the settlement of Kupiansk-Uzlovaya, located further south, where about a third of the approximately two thousand buildings are under control of the Russian army. Military operations are ongoing in the village. The Russian leader also reported that on the left bank of the Oskol River, a Ukrainian group of about 15 battalions has been blocked. "In the coming days, Russian troops will begin to eliminate this group," Putin added. President Putin also assessed the actions of Kyiv, stating that they "live somewhere on another planet" and are not focusing on the frontline situation. "Constantly traveling and soliciting money, they are now not concerned with current issues either in the economy or, even more so, on the front," Putin concluded.
