Experts predict a surge in computer prices in Russia in 2026. The increase will be 10% compared to the last quarter of 2025. This is due to the rise in procurement prices, sources told Izvestia.
According to media reports, equipment purchased at the new price is already on its way to Russia and will appear on store shelves after the New Year holidays.
One of the reasons, experts say, is the increase in the cost of computer RAM on the global market. Thus, according to calculations by The Commercial Times, from the beginning of this year to the third quarter, prices for these chips have risen by more than 170%. Such dynamics logically leads to an increase in the cost of finished electronics.
«There is a boom in demand for artificial intelligence-related services worldwide. To run these services, equipment is needed, such as servers equipped with modern memory. Its manufacturers are increasing shipments of such chips, while production of previous-generation modules, which are used in PCs and laptops and are more expensive, is being reduced», leading analyst of Mobile Research Group Eldar Murtazin explained, speaking about how the chip shortage leads to higher prices.
