The federal government will allocate 3.9 billion rubles to regions as compensation for infrastructure development costs for special economic zones (SEZs). This statement was made by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Reshetnikov.
Seven regions that have demonstrated their effectiveness in working with investors will receive the funds. The initiative aims to stimulate regions actively developing investment platforms.
Over the past two decades, 59 SEZs have been established in Russia. More than 30 of them have been created in the last five years. Over 1,300 residents have been registered on these platforms, creating more than 100,000 jobs. The total volume of investments attracted through SEZs amounted to 2.7 trillion rubles.
In 2024, SEZ residents invested more than 1.2 trillion rubles in the Russian economy and created over 25,000 new jobs.
