Russian steel production decreased by 6.2% compared to 2024 and amounted to 5.3 million tons in October, according to data from the World Steel Association, as reported by TASS. Since the beginning of the current year, steel production in Russia has dropped by 4.9%, reaching 56.5 million tons. In October, steel production in Russia and other CIS countries, as well as Ukraine, totaled 6.4 million tons, which is 5.1% less than the same period last year. From January to October 2025, these countries produced a total of 67.7 million tons of steel. In contrast, China produced 72 million tons of steel in October, a decrease of 12.1% compared to the same period in 2024. India stood out with 13.6 million tons, increasing its production by 5.9%. Japan, on the other hand, saw a decline to 6.9 million tons, a decrease of 1%. In the USA, steel production grew by 9.4%, reaching 7 million tons. Countries in Asia and Oceania produced 102.4 million tons in the previous month, with steel output declining by 8.2%. EU countries produced 10.8 million tons of steel, which is 3.5% less than the previous year. In North America, steel production increased by 4.7% in October, reaching 9.1 million tons. In South America, production was down by 1.1%, totaling 3.7 million tons. Middle Eastern countries produced 5.4 million tons of steel, increasing output by 9.2% compared to the same period last year.
