Russia-Japan trade turnover increased by 2.5% in October

Trade turnover between Russia and Japan in October amounted to $701.9 million, which is 2.5% higher than the same period in 2024, according to data from the Japanese Ministry of Finance reported by TASS.

In October, imports from Russia to Japan decreased by 2.1%, while exports from Japan to Russia increased by 13.7% year-on-year. The majority of total imports consist of Russian LNG supplies (58.9%), while Japanese cars and their components dominate exports (70.1%).

Japan reduced its LNG imports from Russia by 2.4%, but increased imports of non-ferrous metals by 3.9% and coal by 81.9%, and seafood by 16.5%.

Russia increased purchases of medical products by 23.5% and plastic products by 119.3%. Deliveries of passenger cars to Russia increased by 4.2%, but deliveries of spare parts and components decreased by 22.9%, motorcycles and jet skis by 72.6%.
