Migrants will be eligible for free medical care only after 5 years of work in Russia - State Duma decision

There are new changes in the field of medical insurance. The State Duma approved a law during a plenary session that tightens the conditions for migrants to obtain a medical insurance policy.

As explained by the State Duma press service, now, in order for a foreign citizen to obtain a medical insurance policy and the right to free medical care in Russia, they must work in our country for at least five years. At the same time, emergency medical assistance will continue to be provided free of charge.

«Those who come to our country to work and want to benefit from high-standard social guarantees must honestly and legally prove their right to do so», commented Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma.
