MTS will bring tariffs to the level of April-May 2024 according to the decision of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). The service issued the instruction as a result of considering the antitrust case.

It was about the fact that in April and May of last year, MTS increased the average cost of mobile services by 8% for more than 30 million subscribers. Thus, the company received more than 3 billion rubles illegally. Notably, PJSC MTS tried to challenge the decision of the antitrust service, but the Moscow Arbitration Court sided with FAS.

Today, the press service of the agency reported that the operator must offer seven alternative options for returning tariffs to deceived subscribers by January 16, 2026. Among them are bringing tariffs to the level of April-May 2024, an 8% cashback on monthly charges for one year, additional packages of minutes, internet, etc.

However, the consequences for MTS will not end there. The operator must transfer 664 million rubles, illegally obtained, to the budget and invest another 2.4 billion rubles in the development of communication networks in settlements with a population of less than one thousand people. The list of such cities and villages will be determined by the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation.
