Russians will be left without decorative plants from Europe. As part of the 19th sanctions package, the EU has banned the import of roses, rhododendrons, azaleas and other live plants, including their cuttings and grafts, into Russia. The corresponding decision is recorded in the Council of the EU Regulation published in the "Official Journal of the European Union".
The ban also covers branches, foliage, other parts of plants and flowers without buds, grasses, mosses and lichens - everything that can be used for making bouquets or for decorative purposes. This applies to plant parts in any form: fresh, dried, dyed, bleached, impregnated or otherwise prepared.
The decision will come into force on October 24.
