Prices for most outdoor vegetables went down towards the end of the agricultural season. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to Rosstat data.
In October 2025, retail prices for white cabbage (-15% YoY), potatoes (-9.3%), beets (-5.8%), carrots (-4%) decreased.
Experts explain the decrease in vegetable prices by an increase in acreage and an increase in harvest. This trend is expected to continue as the second harvest continues in the southern regions.
Tomatoes turned out to be the only item from the vegetable set for which there is an increase in prices. Retail prices for them increased by 14.7% year-on-year. This is due to an increase in the cost of production, since most of the volumes are accounted for by greenhouse production.
In general, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, this year the total harvest of vegetables and potatoes will amount to 7.6 million tons each. This year, 3.7 billion rubles of state support have been allocated for the development of vegetable and potato growing.
