The State Duma recommended adopting amendments to the law on the federal budget for 2025 in the first reading.

Amendments to the law on the federal budget for 2025 were recommended for adoption in the first reading by the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes. According to the Ministry of Finance, the draft law "On Amendments to the Federal Law "On the Federal Budget for 2025 and for the planning period of 2026 and 2027" was also supported by the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation and all relevant committees of the State Duma.
The bill was presented by Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes. He stressed that the amendments correspond to the current macroeconomic situation and priorities of socio-economic policy.
At the same time, according to Siluanov, there is a need to concentrate resources on ensuring the needs of defense and security. The budget for 2025 will be characterized by an increase in expenditures in subsidized areas.
«Mortgages and meeting the needs of families with children are our priority in proposals to clarify allocations this year. Additional resources in the amount of almost 240 billion rubles will be allocated for Family mortgages, Far Eastern mortgages, and Preferential mortgages. Despite the fact that it has ended, however, we still have obligations under these budget allocations," Anton Siluanov commented.
As for the support of the regions, the budget provides funds for the development and repair of highways, for the renewal of public transport, one-time payments to doctors who have chosen to work in settlements with a population of less than 50 thousand people.
Some regions will receive additional funds for the repair of hydraulic structures, fire safety measures and for the development of the agro-industrial complex.
