Eight EU member states continue to import Russian natural gas. Such data was announced by the representative of the European Commission, Anna-Kaisa Itkonen, during a briefing in Brussels.

Among them, she named Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Slovakia and Hungary.

At the same time, the EC representative stressed that it is clear where the gas comes from in these countries, but the final destination of these supplies is not known.

Earlier, the European Commission announced plans to completely ban purchases of liquefied and piped gas from the Russian Federation by the end of 2027. Hungary and Slovakia have already opposed this plan.
