In 2026, the automobile plant in St. Petersburg, formerly owned by the Japanese automaker Toyota, and later transferred to the automaker Aurus, will begin production of cars under the Senat brand. This is reported by Vedomosti with reference to the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Kirill Polyakov.

According to Polyakov, the Senat is planned to be produced jointly with a foreign partner, with whom negotiations are currently underway. It is assumed that the plant will produce two sedan models and one SUV model.
