Ex-governor of the Kursk region Smirnov admitted that he took kickbacks on construction sites in the DPR

The former governor of the Kursk region, Alexei Smirnov, as part of a deal with the investigation, confessed to receiving bribes not only for contracts related to the construction of fortifications on the border of the Kursk region, but also for contracts related to the restoration of infrastructure in the DPR. This was reported by TASS with reference to law enforcement agencies.

According to him, from September 2022 to August 2024, he received about 30 million rubles in kickbacks from construction sites in the Mangush district of the DPR and in the territory of the Kursk region.
