A military court has found Alexander Ogloblin, the former head of the Communications Planning Department of the Main Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, guilty of accepting a particularly large bribe in the execution of a state defense order. This is reported by TASS.

He was sentenced to nine years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony. Ogloblin was also fined 12 million rubles as punishment. The prosecution demanded 12.6 years in prison for him.

In 2016-2021, Ogloblin was responsible for overseeing the execution of state defense orders for the supply of communication devices for the Ministry of Defense totaling more than 1.2 billion rubles, concluded with the Perm telephone plant Telta. According to the investigation and the court, during this period Ogloblin received a bribe of 12 million rubles from representatives of the plant for general patronage.

This is the second sentence for Ogloblin. In February 2022, the Moscow Garrison Military Court sentenced him to 4.5 years in a penal colony for embezzlement of 1.6 billion rubles, and he was also stripped of the rank of major general.
