Starting from September 1, Russian borrowers will have access to a cooling-off period for consumer loans and borrowings. This is reported by the Central Bank.

The borrower will be able to use a loan or loan from 50 to 200 thousand rubles only 4 hours after signing the consumer loan agreement, and over 200 thousand rubles - after 48 hours. During the current cooling-off period, the borrower may refuse to receive the money. The cooling-off period will also apply to mortgage, educational, and car loans.

This measure is designed to protect people from applying for loans and loans under the influence of fraudsters. The deferral will not apply to loans issued with the participation of a co-borrower or guarantor, as well as a trusted person of the borrower.
