As part of the investigation into the criminal case of abuse of office in the execution of the state defense order against the former deputy director of the Main Military Construction Directorate No. 4 of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Ivan Smetanyuk, the court seized his property with a total value of 143 million rubles. This is reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

According to the investigation, in 2019, the state customer signed a contract with a commercial organization "Creative&for the construction of facilities in the Khabarovsk Territory in the amount of more than 650 million rubles. The control and organization of construction work lay with Smetanyuk, who subsequently, contrary to his obligations, did not organize or control the execution of work at the facility. As a result, multimillion-dollar contracts were executed with significant violations, and the Ministry of Defense suffered damage of 650 million rubles.
