In 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers will allocate over 2.5 billion rubles to support the educational loans program. This will allow about 214,000 students to receive education. This was announced by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Long-term loans at a discounted rate of 3% per annum will be available to university students. The federal budget compensates banks for the low rate.
The state-supported educational lending program has been implemented in Russia for more than 5 years. Its special feature is that borrowers can pay interest on the loan during the entire period of study plus 9 months after graduation. The main part of the loan must be repaid within 15 years. There is a possibility of early repayment without commission.
