A Ukrainian suspected of attacking the Nord Stream gas pipeline was detained in Italy

Italian law enforcement authorities have detained a Ukrainian citizen allegedly involved in the bombing of Nord Stream in September 2022. This is reported by the publication Spiegel.

The man was detained the day before on the basis of a European arrest warrant.

According to law enforcement officials, the attack on the pipelines was carried out by a Ukrainian special forces soldier. Under his control, the explosives were transported to the pipeline location on a specially rented sailing yacht, and then secured to the seabed with the help of divers and activated.
