The Federal Treasury will be allowed to conduct operations with the digital ruble

The Federal Treasury will be authorized to open an account on the digital ruble platform and submit orders for the transfer of digital rubles to the Central Bank. The relevant draft resolution was prepared by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. It will enter into force on the day of the official publication of the document.

It is planned to launch the use of the digital ruble in 2025, when executing the federal budget according to the list of expenditures, which, in agreement with the Central Bank, will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers.

Starting from January 1, 2026, the use of the digital ruble will be possible when transferring revenues to the budgets of the budgetary system of the Russian Federation and transferring funds to federal budgetary and autonomous institutions.

Starting from July 1, 2027, the use of the digital ruble will be extended to transactions with funds from all budgets of the budgetary system of the Russian Federation.
