Starting in 2026, the minimum allowable price for checking a passenger car may increase. The inspection will increase from 913 to 1.3 thousand rubles. This is reported by «Kommersant» with reference to the Federal Antimonopoly Service.
The Agency plans to include new prices in the methodology for calculating the cost of inspection. The changes will affect about 6 million car owners.
It is noted that the price may subsequently increase further if a fee is imposed for transmitting data on the car inspection to the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Formally, operators should pay for it, but they want to shift the payment to car owners. This issue is currently being discussed by the Ministry of Finance jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
