In the first half of the year, the European Union purchased pipeline gas and LNG from the Russian Federation for a total of 7.4 billion euros. This is reported by TASS with reference to Eurostat data.

In annual terms, purchases of Russian gas by the European Union increased by 9.4%.

In January-June, pipeline gas was purchased for 2.9 billion euros, and liquefied natural gas - for 4.5 billion euros.

The main importers of Russian gas over the past period were France (182 million euros), Belgium (147 million euros) and Spain (109 million euros).
