Mass sales of foreign-made taxi cars are expected in 2026.

In 2026, taxi services will begin to massively sell used foreign cars against the background of the entry into force of the requirements of the laws on localization of transport for taxis and on passenger transportation. Currently, the share of foreign-made cars in taxi companies exceeds 80%. According to the National Agency for Industrial Information, 791,000 vehicles have a valid taxi work permit, of which only 15% are Lada models and 2% are Muscovites.

According to the adopted law, from 2026, the taxi business will be required to purchase only domestic cars and will not be able to lease and re-register old foreign cars.
