US President Donald Trump has said that reaching peace agreements on Ukraine will require the participation of European countries. After the summit, the next decision on the conflict remains with Zelensky.

On August 15, three-hour talks between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin took place at the Anchorage Air Base in Alaska. The leaders of the two countries had a conversation on the way from the runway to the summit venue, held a meeting in a narrow format (3+3), talked a little personally and made statements to the press.

The Russian delegation included Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. On behalf of the United States, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steven Witkoff participated in the meeting in a narrow format.

The Ukrainian issue has become a key topic of the negotiations. Vladimir Putin also called for the resumption of cooperation between Russia and the United States, and also invited Trump to visit Moscow. Trump confirmed the progress in the dialogue, but acknowledged that there are still differences on a number of issues.
