In Russia, sales of new electric vehicles increased by 15%

In July 2025, sales of new electric vehicles in Russia increased by 15% compared to the same period last year. It was the first rise in the last year. In just one month, 1,257 electric cars were sold, according to Autostat".

gt;Experts note that the segment of electric vehicles in the Russian car market has demonstrated positive dynamics for the first time. Previously, sales growth was recorded only in June 2024, when sales increased by 2%.

In July 2025, sales of electric vehicles exceeded 1,000 units for the first time. The top five in terms of the number of cars sold were Zeekr (313 units), Moskvich (249), Evolve (224), Avatr (87) and BYD (67). Other brands sold less than 50 cars.

In the first half of 2025, 5,700 new electric cars were sold in Russia. This is half as much as in the same period last year. The share of electric vehicles in the market fell from 1.3% in January & July 2024 to 0.9% in January & July 2025.
