The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia has discovered a cartel agreement in the procurement of chemicals for water purification in the amount of over 4.6 billion rubles. This is stated in the press service of the department.

The crime was revealed during the bidding process for companies providing water supply in 23 regions of the country, including Moscow, Krasnodar Territory and Tatarstan.

The FAS has opened a case against Metachem LLC and Tradespost LLC for violating antitrust laws.

The service suspects that these companies colluded to maintain high prices at auctions for the supply of coagulants and other substances for water purification, the FAS explained. The total initial maximum amount of contracts was about 4.6 billion rubles.

If proven guilty, companies face heavy fines.
