The Federal Antimonopoly Service has initiated proceedings against Gazprom GNP Sales, which is part of Gazprom. The reason was a significant reduction in fuel sales at stock exchanges.
According to the Antimonopoly Service, the company owns the Surgut Condensate Stabilization Plant (KYC), which is a producer of gasoline and diesel fuel. The decrease in fuel sales could have an impact on the increase in gasoline prices.
According to the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange, sales of Ai-92 gasoline decreased by 74% from May 20 to June 27, while sales of Ai-95 gasoline decreased by 50%.
Additionally, the FAS notes that Gazprom GNP Sales has been purchasing gasoline from other oil producing companies. Such actions led to a decrease in fuel supplies to other consumers through stock trading, which became one of the grounds for launching an antimonopoly investigation.
