In June, Russia exported 2.23 million tons of coking coal from ports, which is 35% lower than last year. The decrease was 23% compared to the previous month. This is reported by Kpler with reference to the data "Kommersant".

Exports of metallurgical coal fell to their lowest levels since September last year, when 2.33 million tons were shipped from ports. It was noted that shipments from the southern ports have completely stopped, coking coal has not been exported for two months in a row.

Analysts cite the crisis in the steel market as the reason for this, which led to a decrease in demand for metallurgical raw materials. Market experts say that under the current market conditions, more than 20% of coking coal producers are unprofitable.
