The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation confirmed the initiation of a criminal case against the former deputy head of the Rosgvardiya, Strigunov, under articles on abuse of office and receiving bribes.

According to investigators, in 2014, Strigunov, overseeing the execution of a multimillion-dollar state contract between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and SU Remstroytorg for the construction of a training center in the Kemerovo region, knew about the impossibility of its use due to the inconsistency of the land and proximity to the airport. Nevertheless, he ordered construction to begin, as a result of which the contract was not fulfilled, and the state suffered damage of more than 2 billion rubles.

It was also established that in 2012 and 2014, Strigunov received bribes in the amount of 66 million rubles from entrepreneurs for assistance in the execution of government contracts. The former official was detained in Moscow and taken into custody.
