The Government of the Russian Federation is considering a proposal to apply an increased seasonal coefficient of 1.1 to regulated wholesale prices for gas supplied in the first and fourth quarters. Gazprom has proposed this initiative, according to a href=https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/7799339 ?tg">«Kommersant». Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to work out a corresponding proposal.
According to Gazprom, the seasonal coefficient to the cost of gas should be introduced for all consumers except the population. This measure is designed to compensate for the loss of revenue from the loss of European gas exports, to compensate for the cost of maintaining underground storage facilities.
The issue has already been considered at a meeting at the Ministry of Energy. According to preliminary estimates, the introduction of seasonal gas coefficients of 1.1 will increase annual prices in the electricity market by 2.8-3%, and in the heat market by up to 1.2%. According to sources familiar with the discussion, the agency generally supports this initiative.
At the same time, it is expected that starting in July, regulated gas prices for all categories of consumers will increase by 10.3%, and for electric power companies and utilities by an additional 11% (since prices did not change in the previous indexation). It turns out that for the latter, taking into account the general increase in gas prices, they will immediately increase by 21.3%.;
