Individuals invested 25.6 billion rubles in shares in May

By the end of May 2025, 36.9 million individuals with brokerage accounts were registered on the Moscow Stock Exchange, and 68.8 million accounts were opened by them. More than 3.6 million people entered into transactions, of which 315,000 were qualified investors.

The total volume of investments by individuals in May amounted to 156.2 billion rubles (+33% YoY). 25.6 billion rubles were invested in stocks (an increase of 2.3 times), 113.8 billion rubles (+28%) in bonds, and 16.8 billion rubles in fund units. The share of private investors in trading stocks and units was 74%, and bonds - 33%.

Sberbank shares (ordinary 31.4%, preferred 7%), LUKOIL (14.8%), Gazprom (13.3%) were the leaders in the portfolios of private investors. LQDT (39.6%), SBMM (21.3%), AKMM (17.2%) were the leaders among the funds.

The number of individual investment accounts has reached 6.08 million. The IC turnover amounted to 234.3 billion rubles, of which 61% were transactions in shares, 16% in bonds, and 23% in fund units.
