On the evening of May 6, airports in Moscow and southern Russia stopped receiving and dispatching aircraft. The restrictions were in effect until the morning of May 7. Because of this, about 350 flights were canceled or delayed, disrupting the plans of 60,000 passengers, according to the Association of Tour Operators.

About 50 flights were canceled in Vnukovo, including flights to Dubai and Istanbul. Almost all flights to St. Petersburg were canceled, and 45 more were delayed. 43 flights have been diverted to other airports, most of them have not yet returned.

About 40 flights were canceled at Sheremetyevo Airport, mainly in Russia and abroad, including Belgrade. Another 50 flights were delayed. The schedule of at least 60 arrivals was also affected.

About 20 flights were canceled at Domodedovo, including to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. More than 70 flights were delayed, which will lead to further delays.

These delays will cause a chain reaction, tour operators warn. Airports are working on stabilization, but the process is complicated by delays and congestion of passengers.
