The pricing mechanisms for gas in the world, including for gas of Russian origin, are formed based on world prices for gas and petroleum products.

Global gas markets have their own key price targets. There are several benchmarks, two of them are the main ones.:

1. Henry Hub - American gas. This is actually the Henry Hub gas distribution hub in the state of Louisiana. This benchmark plays a leading role in shaping prices for natural gas in the United States, which is traded on the New York Stock Exchange. The unit of measurement is British Thermal Units (BTU); the current cost is $2.9 per million BTU. To convert the price to the equivalent of 1,000 cubic meters, a coefficient of 35.8 is used. It is important to note that this price reflects the net cost of raw materials without taking into account the costs of liquefaction, transportation and reverse regasification. Accordingly, consumers in the United States pay significantly more for gas.

2. TTF - European gas. This is the main benchmark for gas prices in Europe. The name means Title Transfer Facility, a virtual gas trading platform.

Gas trading on TTF takes place mainly on DUTCH TTF NATURAL GAS. This exchange is the leader of the European gas market. About 20 trillion cubic meters of gas are sold annually on the stock exchange.

Current gas prices (TTF Gas) have dropped to the level of 379 dollars per thousand cubic meters.

gt;Note that futures for American gas are traded on the Russian futures market (Moscow Exchange). It is noteworthy that from April 8, 2025, European gas futures became available for investors to trade.

On the Moscow Stock Exchange, such contracts are designated by the NG-11.25 code and similar combinations of numbers and letters.
