The UK confirmed the death of Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik as a result of a car explosion.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has confirmed that the deputy head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, was killed in a car explosion in the city of Balashikha. This was announced by the official representative of the department Svetlana Petrenko.

- According to reports, the explosion occurred as a result of the detonation of an improvised explosive device filled with damaging elements, Petrenko said.
