A Volkswagen car exploded on the afternoon of April 25 in Balashikha, Moscow region. According to the operational services, a gas cylinder exploded in the car, the media claim that the cause of the explosion was a bomb with damaging elements.

The explosion shattered windows in a nearby house. Two fatalities are reported: the driver and the passenger.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case in connection with the incident. Investigators, criminologists, and operational units of law enforcement agencies are working on the site.
