In March, the price of beer in Russia increased by 15% compared to the same period last year. The average price for 1 liter of beer in non-chain retail was 165 rubles. This is reported by «Kommersant&/a> with reference to the data of the fiscal data operator &Evotor».

At the end of last year, Russian brewers notified retailers of an increase in selling prices for their products by an average of 10%. The reasons were explained by an increase in excise taxes and costs. According to market participants, taxes and fees account for more than 50% of the cost of beer, and their increase has had a noticeable effect on the price. The price is also affected by higher wages for workers and higher prices for glass and aluminum containers.

The most expensive beer in the country is in Yakutia - an average of 249 rubles per 1 liter (+8% year-on-year). This is followed by Moscow - 232 rubles (+7%), St. Petersburg - 216 rubles (+17%), Rostov Region - 176 rubles (+16%), Irkutsk Region - 171 rubles (+11%), Krasnoyarsk Territory - 171 rubles (+11%), Kaliningrad Region- 170 rubles (+14%), Krasnodar Territory - 169 rubles (+23%).

At the same time, according to analysts at Nielsen, beer sales at major retailers increased by 20.7% year-on-year in monetary terms and only by 2.4% in physical terms in the first quarter of 2025.
