The number of victims of a powerful explosion in the port of Iran has reached 281 people.

The Iranian media reported a powerful explosion that occurred on April 26 in one of the two sections of the Bandar Abbas port.

The seaport is located on the northern shore of the Strait of Hormuz in southern Iran. According to preliminary data, a fuel tank exploded on the territory of the port. The operation of the seaport has been suspended for the duration of rescue operations.

The number of injured as a result of the incident reached 281 people.
