In March, the number of new credit cards issued decreased by 53.7%

By the end of March 2025, 1.08 million new credit cards were issued to Russians, which decreased by 53.7% year-on-year (compared to 2.32 million credit cards in March 2024). This is reported by the National Bureau of Credit Histories.

gt; Compared to February, the number of March withdrawals increased by 0.4%. This was the first increase in issuance after a continuous decline for nine months.

The total volume of credit card limits in March amounted to 107.2 billion rubles, which is 1.8% lower than in February and 55.5% lower than in March 2024.

The most noticeable decrease in the number of new credit cards issued was recorded in the Kemerovo Region (-59.3%), Perm Krai (-59.1%), Tyumen (-57.7%), Irkutsk (-57.5%) and Rostov (-56.7%) regions, Moscow (56.1%) and St. Petersburg (52%).
