Raiffeisen Bank International Banking Group has suspended the sale of its Russian division due to the improvement of relations between Russia and the United States. This is reported by the Financial Times newspaper, citing sources.

It was noted that one of the largest Western banks has been gradually winding down its business in Russia since 2022, but in February 2025 it suspended the process amid the resumption of political interaction between Moscow and Washington.".

Earlier it was reported that Raiffeisen Bank International has created a reserve of 840 million euros to cover possible losses due to lawsuits against the Russian division. As a result, the net loss of the Russian Raiffeisen for the fourth quarter of 2024 amounted to 240 million euros.
